From the Ground Up: Creating the All Smiles Brand
There are, of course, any number of dentists available to consumers at any given time. Most of those dentists, though, don’t understand how to properly market their business in the best way to local patients. We understood from the start that this would not be the best approach when creating an entirely new dental brand and facility for our client. Especially one that could eventually go nation wide.
To overcome the typical marketing hurdles that face dentists everywhere, we specifically refused to use the dentists’ names in the name of the facility. Instead, we focused on what we believed to be the ultimate outcome of any trip to the dentist: Bright, confident, happy smiles. If patients can leave the dentist’s office with a bigger and better smile than they had before they walked in, then that is surely an indicator of success.
After careful consideration, we created the All Smiles Dental Centres brand for our client. Indeed, the best dentists are all about offering great service, promoting great health, and ensuring patients leave happy. This brand is easy to market and inspires confidence in patients, making it an excellent choice. Hence the play on words, you will be “all smiles” when you leave the practise.

Another problem facing most dentists is that they can’t really brand their practice because they just don’t have a logo design that represents what they do. This was a particular challenge for us, because we wanted to make sure that the logo was not simply a tooth. That’s easy and it’s not necessarily as clever and as memorable as most people would initially think. We did, though, want to incorporate dental imagery into the logo for obvious reasons.
What we came up with was four stylized teeth placed in in a circular fashion, with a square at the center of the logo. This clever logo certainly includes teeth and communicates the All Smiles message and purpose, but it also communicates friendliness to potential patients. At first glance, the logo looks more like an inviting flower than a series of teeth that surround a square. The positive message associated with flowers compliments the All Smiles brand excellently, and is highly effective when new patients are investigating the facility’s services, reputation, and commitment to great outcomes.
Designing the Customer-Facing Store Design, Print, and Electronic Materials
With a brand name secured and a logo finished, we sought next to develop the store design, marketing materials, and website, that All Smiles Dental Centres would be using to initially contact patients and communicate with them about upcoming checkups or more serious dental services. Our goal was the use the friendliness cultivated by the company’s logo throughout the facility and its marketing materials, giving it an upbeat feel that would resonate with customers. We also wanted to sooth their concerns and reassure them during a potentially stressful visit to the dentist.
This was done by using lots of cool whites and light blues throughout the logo, website, marketing materials, and even the physical retail location operated by the company and its professionals. There are few colors as calming as blue and, when used in light hues alongside white, the color gives an air of openness and friendliness that resonated perfectly with the All Smiles name.

The website presented large pictures of professionals and services, with a wide layout and a matching color scheme. Biographies of dentists were written and deployed, as was a tour of the office.
